Selected to represent State

K.V.E. Prasad of Visakhapatnam Port Trust, journalist from S.D.V. TV, A.R. Joga Rao and hostellers of the city chapter of the Youth Hostels Association of India have been selected to represent the State at the ensuing Camp Leaders' training programme organised by the association's national office at Seobagh in Kulu district of Himachal Pradesh. They will be inducted as camp leaders in Himalayan trekking expedition camps.

Statue proposed

City residents have proposed to erect a full size statue of late Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao at a suitable location before his death anniversary in December 2007. A committee with D.V. Subba Rao (chairman), Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad (vice chairman), S. Gopala Sastry (secretary) and Nandivada Srinivasa Rao (treasurer) has been formed.
