NEW DELHI: Residents of Munirka DDA flats and adjoining areas of Jia Sarai and Katwaria Sarai in South Delhi have been facing an acute shortage of water for the past four days. "On normal days water is supplied twice during the day, an hour each in the morning and evening. But we have not get a single drop of water in the past three days. The situation improved marginally today [Tuesday] and we got an hour's supply in the morning. But again there was no water in the evening," complained Satpal Sharma, a resident of Munirka DDA flats. Even the Delhi Jal Board water tankers attend only to members of the Residents' Welfare Association and other influential people and there is no relief for the common man, said Mr. Sharma, adding that despite several complaints and assurances by the DJB officials the situation continues to be grim. "With no water for almost four days we have been forced to buy mineral water."
