Godowns being operated illegally to store plastic scrap in residential colonies

  • Minister Mukesh Goud visits Bholakpur
  • Most of the godowns lack fire safety measures

HYDERABAD: Backward Classes Welfare Minister, M.Mukesh Goud, instructed the district administration to seal 16 godowns, which are being operated illegally to store plastic scrap in residential colonies at Bholakpur.

After visiting the premises of a godown in Bholakpur where a fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday, Mr. Goud said most of the godowns in Bholakpur lacked fire safety measures and even licences from the GHMC. He asked Revenue officials to seal the godowns under Criminal Procedure Code Section 133 for causing public nuisance.

    New BC Bhavan

Hyderabad Collector R. V. Chandravadhan informed that there were no injuries or casualties in the accident and the Pollution Control Board was asked to look into the matter for initiating necessary action.

As part of the Praja Patham programme, Mr. Goud on Tuesday visited Bholakpur, Abhinav Nagar and Bapuji Nagar colonies behind Gandhi Hospital.

After interacting with Secunderabad BC Girls Hostel inmates at Abhinav Nagar, Mr Goud announced that a new BC Bhavan would be constructed at Banjara Hills Road No.12 at an estimated cost of Rs. 2 crore.

Reacting to Ambedkar Nagar residents' pleas for house site pattas, the Minister said no help could be offered as a land grabbing case was pending against them in court.

Encroachment of public land abutting the Ramnagar nala beside the Zamistanpur Government High School was brought to the notice of the Minister by Ramnagar residents. Mr.Goud immediately asked GHMC and revenue officials to stop the illegal constructions being taken up at the site and ordered stringent action against those involved in the encroachment of public land.
