Thiruvananthapuram: The police have identified those behind the murder of 37-year-old C.K. Anil Kumar at Kuttiyamootu, near Malamukal, in Vattiyoorkavu police station limits on Monday. Anil, who was attacked by a gang around 2.30 p.m., succumbed to injuries around 10.30 p.m. at Government Medical College Hospital. The incident occurred when he was going to his wife's house. Anil, who sustained serious injuries in his head and hands, was dumped into a drain. The police who reached the spot shifted him to the hospital. Anil is survived by his wife and two children. The police said they had identified the accused and raids were on to nab them. A team led by Peroorkada Circle Inspector M. Radhakrishnan Nair is investigating the murder. The body of the deceased was handed over to relatives on Tuesday after the inquest and post-mortem. He was cremated at his house later in the night.
Theft: one held
The police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the theft of a scooter belonging to a headload worker in Pettah police station limits. The accused, Saji, of Kolakkod Gangamala Lakshamveedu Colony, Vellanad, was arrested from Kannammoola on Monday, the police said. The scooter was recovered.
