Paranju Theeratha Visheshangal
The film, scripted by Kaloor Dennis and directed by Hari Kumar, has depth and innovativeness, but the presentation could have been better. A flourishing architect (Suresh Gopi) and his wife (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) divorce because he insists that she stay at home to look after their little daughter, and his father-in-law (Janardhanan) interferes in the marriage. After divorce, they realise their mistake immediately, as love between them has never extinguished. Many marriage proposals come for them, but they hesitate and stay in a dilemma for long. They remain in contact, much to the chagrin of their relatives. The film ends on a soothing note, though on expected lines. Suresh Gopi commands a tremendous range of emotions, but has not been used well. Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, caught between love for her husband, unconditional support for her child and her family's insinuations, has acted in a stellar way. Manya, as colleague of the hero who once aspired to marry him, has acted with finesse the role of a matured lover who decides not to come in the way of the estranged husband and wife. Sukumari, as a helpless, caring mother, has done justice to the role.
