JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government plans to introduce the science stream at an additional 400 senior secondary schools across the State from the next academic session to fulfil the demand for a large number of technical experts at various levels in near future. Measures will also be taken to improve the standard of science education. Addressing a training workshop of the Centre for E-Governance here on Wednesday, State Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari said the objective of technical institutes should not only be to produce graduates but also train the youths to succeed at the global level. Mr. Tiwari said the Centre for E-Governance was established in the State to train the workforce to come up to the latest scientific standards and develop their capacity for getting employment in the highly competitive job market. The Minister said national research and educational organisations such as IITs, the University Grants Commission, the National Council for Educational Research and Training and the Indian Medical Council should change their style of functioning to maintain their relevance in the fast changing world. Centre for E-Governance Director M.P. Punia said the State was producing 16,000 technical education graduates every year and steps had been taken to train them to meet the demands in the job market.
