VARANASI: Firebrand BJP Member of Parliament Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday suggested imposition of President's Rule in Uttar Pradesh in order to stop horse-trading of elected MLAs by political parties for government-formation in the event of a hung Assembly after the polls. Imposition of President's Rule in the State would be a better option than formation of a government by horse-trading of legislators in the event of a fractured mandate after the polls, he told reporters here. Referring to the BJP's electoral prospects, he said though he was confident of a strong performance by his party, he would rather like the party not to try formation of government through horse-trading in case the party-led alliance failed to get a majority on its own. Referring to his rift with the party over selection of candidates ahead of the Assembly polls last month, he said the differences were not ideological in nature and, in any case, the problems were sorted out by mutual understanding. - .
