ENGROSSED: Students writing the CET in A.V.K. PU College in Hassan on Wednesday.
HASSAN: A total of 2,128 students appeared for the Common Entrance Test (CET) at four centres here on Wednesday. Last year 1,350 students appeared for the CET, said Deputy Director of Pre-University Education P.K. Bhavani. A total of 608 students appeared in A.V.K. PU College, 400 in Arvind High School, 608 in St. Philomena PU College and 512 in M. Krishna PU College. There would be no deduction of marks for negative answers, she said. For every examination centre a Deputy Chief Superintendent, a Joint Chief Superintendent and a custodian from other districts was appointed.

Correspondent from Chitradurga writes: A total of 1,920 students appeared for CET in four centres here on Wednesday. A total of 400 students appeared for the test at Boys Government PU College, 592 at SJM Arts, Science and Commerce College, 400 at Girls Government PU College and 528 at Brahanmath PU College. The exam was held in three sessions. In the first session 1,859 appeared for Physics and Chemistry. A total of 1,853 attended Mathematics and same number of students appeared for Biology in the third session. Deputy Director of PU Department G.H. Kattimani said that there were no problems and the examination passed off well.
