HYDERABAD: Former CLP leader and Khairatabad MLA, P. Janardhan Reddy, asked the State Government to explain how it planned to meet the drinking water demands of Greater Hyderabad without announcing Krishna-Phase III work immediately. He said a fast growing city like Hyderabad needed a committed approach from officials as well as politicians to tackle the drinking water crisis.
`Inordinate delay'
He criticised the inordinate delay in the completion of the second phase works. Mr Reddy wanted to know from APCC president K. Keshava Rao why he had not initiated disciplinary action against certain `party bigwigs' working against the party interests. Defending the dissident party leaders, he said the APCC should have taken action against all those harming the party's interests instead of targeting Shadnagar MLA P. Shankar Rao. He told reporters here on Wednesday that he was proved right in his contention that the Chief Minister's political adviser, K. V. P. Ramachandra Rao, was behind the notice served on Dr. Shankar Rao because two MLAs suspended by the APCC met him seeking revocation of the orders.
