Gujarat IGP in city for inquiry

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Gujarat Inspector-General of Police Geeta Johri flew into the city on Wednesday night to inquire into the reported assistance extended by the State police to their Gujarat counterparts in the kidnap of Sohrabuddin and his wife Kauserbi, who were killed in a `fake encounter'.

The woman IPS officer declined to give details of her visit to mediapersons. Ms. Johri said, "I came to verify things here," when the scribes repeatedly asked if names of any Andhra Pradesh police officials figured in Sohrabuddin's case.
