NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday laid the foundation stones for three flyovers on Outer Ring Road that would make the stretch from Escorts Hospital to National Highway-8 signal-free. The three flyovers, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 248 crore, will provide smooth connectivity up to Indira Gandhi International Airport and Gurgaon. They would be commissioned within 21 months, well ahead of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Speaking on this occasion, Ms. Dikshit directed the Public Works Department to complete work within the time frame to avoid escalation in cost. Ring Road and Outer Ring Road carry the maximum vehicular traffic. The three flyovers on Outer Ring Road will be on Africa Avenue Marg-Vedant Diksha Marg, Vivekananad Marg-Nelson Mandela Marg-Poorvi Marg and Rao Tula Ram Marg-Benito Juarez Marg intersections.
