Kamban festival begins today

It is 42nd year in succession for Kamban Kazhagam to hold the fete

Puducherry: The three-day 42nd Kamban festival of the Puducherry Kamban Kazhagam will be held at Kamban Kalai Arangam from Friday.

A release from the organising committee said on Thursday that the festival would be inaugurated by Lt Governor Mukut Mithi. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy will present the welcome address.

Chief Justice of the Jharkhand State High Court Justice M. Karpagavinayakam will preside over the inauguration.

Release of books, presentation of awards to those proficient in various competitions held as part of the festival and also special talks and poets forum would be the other features of the festival.
