An art exhibition is being organised in the Capital with the aim of garnering support for the cause of education, health, community development and environment. On display and sale will be works by eminent artists from different parts of the country. The exhibition-cum-sale of contemporary Indian Art is being organised by ABN AMRO Van Gogh Preferred Banking and Taj Palace to raise funds for development-oriented programmes supported by Concern India Foundation. The exhibition, to be held at the Taj Palace this coming Sunday, will showcase the finest collection of 106 paintings. Some of the artists whose works will be on display and sale include Manu Parekh, Shanti Dave, S. Harshavardhan, Gurucharan Singh, Laxman Goud, Prabhakar Kolte, Wasim Kapoor, Rahim Mirza, Suman Roy, Vinod Sharma, Yusuf, Sarab Soni, Samir Das, Samir Aich, Bulbul Sharma, Sidharath, Subrata Kundu, Chameli Ramachandran, Jiten Hazarika, Dharmendra Rathore, Niren Sen Gupta, Shan Bhatnagar and Shobha Broota. The works have been priced in the Rs. 5,000-Rs. 5,00,000 range. Started in 1991, Concern India Foundation is a non-profit, public charitable trust that supports development-oriented organisations working with the most vulnerable people of society in the areas of education, health, community development and environment. -- Smriti Kak Ramachandran
