HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party is geared up to take the struggle against the Babli barrage to New Delhi. At a press conference here on Thursday, senior leader S. Venugopalachari said a train-load of party leaders, cadres and farmers from Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnaar, Warangal, Nalgonda and Khammam districts would stage a dharna on May 14 near Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. He said the TDP had obtained police permission for the dharna/rally near Jantar Mantar between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 14. The party had also made requests for appointments with President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and was awaiting confirmation.
