Coimbatore: Kerala State Electricity Board (Thiruvananthapuram) opened its campaign with a comfortable 78-63 win over South Eastern Central Railway (Bilaspur) in the 49th all-India basketball tournament for the Nachimuthu Gounder Cup for men at the VOC Park Corporation Sports Complex courts here on Thursday. Harish (26) and Manoj (21) worked hard for the winner, while Devendra (27) played well for the Bilaspur team. The sixth all-India tournament for women, scheduled for the day, was postponed to Friday as a couple of teams arrived late.
The results: Men: League: KSEB (Thiruvananthapuram) 78 (Harish 26, Manoj 21, Ullas Jose 14) bt South Eastern Central Rly 63 (Devendra 27, Vinod 12).
