Five Tihar Jail officials granted bail

New Delhi: A Delhi court on Thursday granted bail to five Tihar jail officials accused of beating an under-trial and asked the DG (Prison) to look into the safety and security of all the inmates including the complainant.

Metropolitan Magistrate Pratap Singh Malik granted bail to the Jail Superintendent- S C Seth, Deputy Superintendents-- S K Matta, Maan Singh, B P Bhatti and Anil Rohilla- Head Warden after furnishing personal bail bond of Rs.10,000 each and a surety of the like amount.

In his complaint the under-trial had alleged that he was beaten up severely by the jail authorities as he had complained that he was not given proper food.- PTI
