Bids invited to construct drains

Chennai : The Chennai Corporation has called for bids from contractors to demolish and reconstruct stormwater drains in Nungambakkam and Kodambakkam zones.

The Mayor had announced recently that stormwater drains in various localities would be laid or renovated at a cost of Rs. 23.20 crore by August 31. An SWD would be constructed along Pasumpon Muthuramalingam Salai and Chamiers Road at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore. In T. Nagar, an SWD would be constructed along Usman Road at Rs. 96 lakh and along North Usman Road at Rs. 88 crore.

In Nungambakkam zone, a drain along the Mahalingapuram Main Road would be demolished and constructed at a cost of Rs. 48 crore.
