Power shutdown

Power supply will be suspended in Tiruverkadu, Sundara Sholapuram, Mechana estate, Poonamallee High Road and Velapanchavadi areas on Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Public consultation

Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) will organise public consultations on the draft second master plan on Saturday between 10.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Mullai Tirumana Mandapam, Maran Maligai, 199, Nehru Bazar in Avadi, and Dr. Shanmugam Kumudavalli Arangam, 230/423, TPP Road in Minjur.

Lecture on agriculture

National Folklore Support Centre will organise a lecture on `building on traditional agricultural knowledge and wisdom for sustainable agriculture today' by the director of Centre for Traditional Knowledge Systems A.V. Balasubramanian on May 15 at 5.30 p.m. The lecture is part of a series of public lectures addressing issues in arts and humanities. The venue for the lecture is Indian School of Folklore, 505, Kaveri Complex, 96, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Nungambakkam.

Workshop on education

Shi-Ba Montessori Center will organise a free introductory workshop on `early childhood education' with emphasis on Montessori methodology. The workshop will be held at 59/70, Tirumangalam Road in Villivakkam on May 13 from 10.30 a.m. onwards.

Talk on arthritis

The Academy for Clinical Training will organise a free lecture on `understanding arthritis' on May 17 at 6 p.m. at its office in Anna Nagar East. Registration is free.

Free eye camp

Pammal Sankara Eye Hospital will conduct a free eye cataract surgery camp at Government Higher Secondary School in Anakaputhur at 9 a.m. on May 13. The camp will be held at the hospital on Third Cross Street in Sri Sankara Nagar in Pammal.
