Register for Yashaswini before May 15

BANGALORE:
The last date for registration of names for the State Government's Yashaswini medical scheme for 2007-08 is May 15.
A release from the Joint Secretary to the Government, Department of Cooperation, R.S. Huchachari, said that already 13.46 lakh people had become members to Yashaswini during the present financial year and a premium of Rs. 16.13 crore has been collected.
It said that a record of over two lakh Yashaswini members had taken benefits under the scheme as outpatients in the financial year 2006-07. Besides, the Yashaswini Trust has provided Rs. 33.37 crore towards the surgeries of over 34,000 patients who were members of Yashaswini.
From its inception, the release said, over 3.4 lakh members have benefited and over Rs. 88.74 crore has been spent on surgery.
