Shopkeeper deposes in Pratibha case
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
M.N. Deepak, a relative of slain BPO employee Pratibha Murthy, was examined in the trial on Thursday.
Deposing before a Fast Track Court hearing the case, Mr. Deepak said Pratibha was using the SIM card purchased from his shop by her husband Pavan Shetty.
Mr. Deepak, who runs a stationery shop in Mysore, said Mr. Shetty came to him in January 2005 and asked for a SIM card, which he procured from his friend Narayan and sold to Mr. Shetty for Rs. 199. Mr. Shetty had given the SIM card, which was in Mr. Narayan's name, to Pratibha for use in her phone.
The accused, Shivakumar, called Pratibha on her mobile phone, which had this SIM card, before he allegedly kidnapped and murdered her on the night of December 12, 2005.
