GUNTUR: Five Chemical Engineering students -- D. Mohan Rao, V. Venkatesh, K.Vinod Kumar, T. Ramasubba Reddy and Ch. Satish -- of Vignan Engineering College, got direct admission into M.Tech programme of prestigious Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore. All these students had secured 1st, 3rd, 17th, 24th, and 92nd ranks in GATE - 2007. Very rarely five students of one college get admission directly in M.Tech programme in a single year. Similar performance was put up last year by chemical engineering students of Vignan college in the admissions at IIT - Bombay. Head of Chemical Engineering V. Madhusudhan Rao, college principal Y.V.S.S.S.V. Prasada Rao, executive director P. KoteswaRao, and group chairman Lavu Rathaiah congratulated the students on their achievement.
