Task force proposed to check illegal layouts

HUBLI: As a step towards checking the mushrooming of illegal layouts in the twin cities, Hubli-Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HDUDA) has proposed the setting up of a task force, headed by Revenue and district-in-charge Minister Jagadish Shettar.

A decision was taken at a meeting convened by HDUDA chairman Lingaraj Patil here recently, according to a HDUDA release. Mr. Jagadish Shettar, Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Commissioner P. Manivannan, HDUDA Commissioner L.K. Beeragoudar and other senior officials attended.

The following will be the members of the proposed task force: Assistant Commissioner (president), Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order-vice-president), and City Planning Member, HDUDA (secretary).

It is said that in Hubli taluk 10,296 illegal houses were built on 1,027 acres of land.
