UAE considers life ban

Minister rules out possibility of general amnesty

ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is planning to impose a life ban on illegal workers as part of its crackdown on them, Khaleej Times reported on Friday.

The life ban will apply not only in the UAE, but also in all other Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, UAE Labour Minister Ali Abdullah Al Kaabi was quoted as saying. The Government was discussing this matter with GCC countries. — Xinhua
