Sensex recovers initial losses
MUMBAI:
In high volatility, the Sensex recovered initial sharp losses and ended in the positive territory on Friday. The 30-shares sensitive index opened sharply lower at 13691.86 on the back of weak Asian markets and moved in a range of 13864.18 and 13554.34 points before closing at 13796.16, a net rise of 24.93 points from 13771.23. The S&P CNX Nifty also moved up by 9.85 points to 4076.65 from 4066.80.
Dealers attributed the initial fall to weak Asian markets. Buying emerged at lower levels and the Sensex landed in the green at close.
Sensex-based scrips such as Reliance, SBI, Bajaj Auto, NTPC, Infosys Tech and TCS attracted fresh buying support.
