Nigel Short. File photo
New Delhi: British Grandmaster Nigel Short has been hauled up by the International Chess Federation for his outburst against top FIDE officials in connection with the toilet-gate scandal at last year's World Championships. Short has been asked to appear before the Fide Ethics Committee for defaming FIDE Vice-president Zurab Azmaiparashvili and Deputy President Georgios Makropoulos by calling them "dunderheads" in an interview to an Indian newspaper and damaging the reputation of chess in the world. Short violated the articles 2.2.10 and 2.2.11 of code of ethics by making these remarks. PTI
