NEW DELHI: Pallavi Dutta of Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj, won the Delhi women's chess championship on better progressive score after having tied with Preetika Tayal with four points. Pallavi drew with Kanika Saxena, but Preetika humbled top-seed Dhara Gupta to catch up with Pallavi. The top four have been selected to represent Delhi in the National women's `B' championship.
The final standings (women): 1. Pallavi Dutta (4), 2. Preetika Tayal (4), 3. Dhara Gupta (3.5), 4. Kanika Saxena (3.5), 5. Gayatri Pasricha (3), 6. Arunima Kalra (3), 7. M. Sravya (3), 8. Madhurima (3), 9. Savitri Joshi (2), 10. Kalyani Trivedi (2), 11. Ananya Sharma (1.5), 12. Seemantani Sharma (1.5), 13. Himani Sharma (1), 14. Snigdha Gupta. The results (fifth round): Dhara Gupta (3.5) lost to Preetika Tayal (4); Kanika Saxena (3) drew with Pallavi Dutta (4); Gayatri Pasricha (3) lost to M.
