Karimnagar
Staff Reporter
KARIMNAGAR: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) district president L. Ramana on Friday alleged that there was poor response to the Praja Patham programme in Karimnagar district. Addressing a press conference here, he claimed that people kept away from the programme in spite of the participation of Ministers T. Jeevan Reddy and J. Ratnakara Rao as the authorities had failed to solve the drinking water problem and distribution of ration cards. Expressing concern over the lack of minimum support price to farmers during this rabi, he said that paddy procured by women self-help groups and others in the market committees, was getting damaged due to non-shifting of the same to the godowns. He wanted the administration to deploy more vehicles for shifting of paddy from all market yards and other procurement centres to the godowns.
Babli row
On the proposed dharna programme in New Delhi on May 14 against the Babli project, he said from Karimnagar district about 500 people were proceeding to Delhi to participate in the dharna.
