American International School to launch Baccalaureate diploma

First batch of AISC students will begin two-year course in August

CHENNAI: The American International School-Chennai (AISC) has successfully gained authorisation from the International Baccalaureate Organisation to start the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme from August 2007. The first batch of AISC students will begin the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in August this year, a press note from the international school said.

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

Towards this end, the IBO works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners. The IBO currently works with 1,965 schools in 125 countries.
