Former IAS officer dead

HYDERABAD: K. Obayya (76), former Union Additional Secretary and member of the Central Administrative Tribunal, died here on Friday. He served the State Government as Principal Secretary, General Administration Department and as Commissioner of Industries, Panchayat Raj and Commercial Taxes.

Obayya is survived by two sons -- K. Ramesh, Commissioner, Income-tax, Chennai, and K.C. Sekhar, Additional Commissioner, Customs, Hyderabad, and two daughters.
