`Growth guy' offers tips for success

    No wonder nearly 125 CEOs from Government, including APSRTC, South Central Railway, IT and corporate sector attended the seminar on `The making of Indian giants', a special management programme that began with `One page strategic plan' with the successful management guru Verne Harnish.

    The US-based management guru, who goes with the sobriquet `Growth Guy' is a sought after consultant for fast growth companies.

    First time in India, he addressed seminars in Mumbai and Bangalore before addressing one in city on Friday.

    Human resources

    Emphasising on quality human resources, Mr. Verne felt that Indian recruitment process should be more stringent as it was people who would make real difference to an organisation's growth by developing brand promise.

    Mr. Verne explained as to how to bring ones core values and core purpose alive and thus energise ones employees.

    He also emphasised that with use of effective tools that focus on organisational alignment, one could become an entrepreneurial giant.

    More importantly, he dealt on Rockfeller Habits checklist - 10 essential habits that reduce the executive time needed to manage the business from 50 hours/week to less than 15 hours.
