Podhigai express frequency increased

CHENNAI: The frequency of the Chennai Egmore-Tenkasi Podhigai express trains will be increased from tri-weekly to six days a week with effect from June 1. The Chennai Egmore- Tenkasi Podhigai Express (2661) will not run on Tuesdays and the Tenkasi-Chennai Egmore Podhigai Express (2662) will not run on Wednesdays.

Additional special trains will be operated from Chennai Central to Coimbatore to clear extra rush of passengers. Train no 0625 will leave Chennai Central at 10.30 pm on all Wednesdays and reach Coimbatore at 8.15 am the next day. In the return direction, train no 0626 will leave Coimbatore at 11.45 pm on all Thursdays and arrive here at 8.30 am the next day. The train will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur. Train No. 0626 will stop at Perambur also. The service will be available from May 16 to June 27 from Central and from May 17 to June 28 from Coimbatore.
