Kanaka keeps winning

BANGALORE: Kanaka (Kolar) registered its second successive win a 50-33 victory over Rajmahal with Harish in terrific touch in the boys' section of the State junior basketball championship here on Saturday.

In another match, Nationals (Mysore) broke away from 20-all at half time to snatch a thrilling 44-41 win over NAL Colony.

Two district teams — Belgaum and Haveri — were shunted out of the championship with ease by Bharat Sports Union and Vivek SC respectively.

The results:

Boys: VBC (Mandya) 45 (Anoop Gowda 12, Abhilash 11) bt Rovers (Dharwad) 29 (Akshay 13); Nationals (Mysore) 44 (Naveen 18) bt NAL Colony 41 (Adithya 17, Nishanth 12); Bharat SO 43 (Adindhran 17) bt Belgaum 37 (Akash 19); Vivek SC 58 (Jaishankar 22, Supreet 11) bt Haveri 31 (Irfan Pathan 19); Kanaka (Kolar) 50 (Harish 32, Vishwanath 14) bt Rajmahal 33 (Harpreet 10).

Girls: Rovers (Dharwad) 31 (Smitha 12) bt Pinakini 11.
