AIADMK activists to take part in May 13 rally

CHENNAI: All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Jayalalithaa has announced that her party will back the agitation for retaining Padmanabhapuram as an Assembly segment in Kanyakumari district.

In a statement here on Friday, she said AIADMK activists would take part in the rally in the district on May 13 and the fast to be observed on May 15.

The party would also support the bandh slated for May 17 to highlight the demand.

In view of the historic importance of the constituency, the delimitation process should not come in the way of retaining Padmanabhapuram segment, Ms. Jayalalithaa said.
