Staff Correspondent
HUBLI: With the twin cities experiencing pre-monsoon showers in the past few days, the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation has taken steps to meet any eventuality in the event of heavy rain. It has set up an emergency response centre that will be working round-the-clock. In a press release here on Saturday, Superintending Engineer of HDMC L.R. Nayak said that the centre would have three teams for relief works such as removing fallen trees, preventing damages from rainwater, clearance of obstructions, removing silt from drains connected to nalas, and rehabilitation of the affected people. The centre can be contacted by dialling 2213888.
