THRISSUR: Sobha Developers Limited will launch a Rs.850-crore township in Thrissur on Sunday. The township will include a hospital, hotels, shopping malls, apartments and an artificial lake developed in 65-75 acres of land at Puzhakkalpadam in Thrissur. The company will complete the project in five years. Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, P.N.C. Menon, chairman of the Sobha Group, said the company planned to launch similar townships in 26 cities in the country. ``These townships will have international facilities. The company has acquired land in Bangalore, Hosur, Mysore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi and Pune. Plans are afoot to acquire land in Mangalore, Hyderabad and Jaipur,'' he said. The company, he announced, would open a factory to make concrete products in the State. Asked to comment on the State's economic condition, he said there should be a consensus among political parties on development. ``The State has highly skilled and educated people. The Government faces the daunting task of making the State investment-friendly,'' he said. J. C. Sharma, managing director, SDL, P. Ramakrishnan, regional director, and Jacbastian K. Nazareth, executive director, were also present at the press meet.
