BSNL to celebrate telecom day from May 15

VIJAYAWADA: The office of the general manager of BSNL Vijayawada telecom district plans to conduct various activities for schoolchildren on May 15 and 16, as part of the World Telecommunication Day on May 17.

A statement released on Friday said the department proposed to conduct competitions in essay writing, quiz and drawing to mark the occasion. Essay writing on `Connecting the youth: The opportunities of ICT (information and communication technology) will be conducted for juniors and seniors on May 15th at 11 a.m. in the conference hall of BSNL Bhavan at Chuttugunta. Those interested in participating could call 9490205999.

A quiz contest would be conducted on the same day at 3 p.m. at the same venue. Interested candidates could call 9490365999. On May 16, a drawing competition would be organised for children below 15 years of age at 11 a.m. in BSNL Bhavan. Call 9440524252 for more details
