Rajahmundry: The Samata Seva Samiti, a voluntary organisation floated by top IRS and some retired IAS officers, has called upon the society, particularly corporates, to empower youth who are the future of the country. At a meeting organised here on Saturday, Samata secretary M. Tirumala Rao said that youth were beginning to knowing their responsibilities unlike in the past. State Human Rights Commission secretary Chellappa said that the extremism, separatism and other means of crime were showing a downward trend, which was a welcome sign. However, he cautioned the society to look at the basic needs of the youth and give proper direction to them. G. Rajakumar, Principal Secretary, Tamil Nadu Youth Services, explained how youth of that State were being moulded by government programmes. P.J. Sudhakar, News Director, Doordarshan, Hyderabad, explained how youth could be guided in a proper way by imparting moral education. K. Niruparani, Vice-Chancellor of Nannaya University, stressed the need for job-oriented courses. M. Subrahmanyam, EG Collector, also spoke.
