Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers Association (KGMCTA) has decided to put off the State-wide strike proposed on May 14 to protest against the suspension of Sree Avittam Tirunal (SAT) Superintendent Rajmohan in connection with the death of newborns due to hospital-acquired infection. Sarat Kumar, secretary of the association, said here on Saturday that the central committee took the decision following the acceptance of the association's demands by Health Minister during the talks she held with the association representatives. According to the association, they included revision of the staff pattern of 1965 and issue of clear instructions by the Government on what should be done with the additional patients. Another demand was to extend the restrictions on visitors being implemented in the SAT to the other medical colleges.
