`Speed up power projects'

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has urged Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) to help the State speed up various power projects and supply machineries to the units in the stipulated time frame.

Ms. Raje, who met BHEL Chairman A. K. Puri in New Delhi on Friday before leaving for a visit abroad, said Rajasthan had launched a number of projects to attain self-reliance in power production by next year. BHEL has been asked to supply primary equipment for all these units.

The projects include establishment of two units of 250 MW each in Chhabra, two units of 125 MW each in Giral, one unit of 195 MW in Kota and one unit of 250 MW in the Suratgarh power plant. Ms. Raje asked the BHEL Chairman to deliver machineries to these plants without delay.
