Woman, daughter die in suicide pact

KADAPA: A woman Parvathi, 38, and her daughter Sabitha died in a suicide pact in Dongalacheruvu here late on Friday night.

Police arrested Kuppuri Ramasudhakar Reddy, 44, draughtsman in Telugu Ganga project, basing on a suicide note. Parvathi wrote in her suicide note that she was ending her life along with her daughter unable to bear severe harassment by her husband, an alcohol addict for the last 15 years and demanded stern action against him, Kadapa West circle inspector V. Narayanaswamy Reddy said.

The woman and her daughter consumed `Super Vasmol', a hair dye solution.

After preliminary treatment by a private doctor in Kadapa, they were being taken to Vellore, when they died en route at Rayachoti.

Ramasudhakar then took the bodies to Payasampalle in Veerapunayunipalle mandal, from where police shifted the bodies to RIMS hospital for post-mortem. Chinna Chowk police registered a case.
