Cash bag stolen from private firm manager

VIJAYAWADA: A bag containing Rs. 2.20 lakh in cash was snatched by a miscreant from the hands of Kancharla Durga Rao, manager in a private transport company, in front of a bank near Challapalli Bungalow on Saturday.

The Governorpet police said Mr. Rao withdrew the money from the Andhra Bank's branch near the Bungalow in the morning. When he was walking towards his motorcycle parked outside the bank, the miscreant told him that a currency note had fallen near his feet. When Mr. Rao searched for the note, the miscreant snatched the cash bag and fled.
