MANGALORE: The police arrested a youth from Kerala and recovered a stolen motorcycle from him at Milagres Junction here on Friday. According to the police, Mangalore North Circle Police Inspector Umesh G. Shet, on a routine patrol, signalled the motorcyclist to stop near Avery Junction on Falnir Road. However, the motorcyclist sped away. A police team chased the motorcycle and intercepted it. At this point, the pillion rider fled from the spot, the police said. The police have identified the motorcycle rider as Abdul Yunus (19), a resident of Payangadi in Kannur district of Kerala. He reportedly told the police that he had stolen the motorcycle from a house in Payangadi. A case has been registered. Personnel of the Mangalore South (Pandeshwar) police station have arrested a Kenyan national for not possessing valid travel documents. In a press release, Superintendent of Police B. Dayananda has identified him as Tony Wilson (28). The police said that he was staying in a lodge on Azizuddin Road here. The accused had been produced before the jurisdictional judicial magistrate and remanded in judicial custody, the release said.
