Bank opens branch

Centurion Bank of Punjab opened its first full-fledged branch near Benz Circle in the city. Managing Director & CEO of the bank Shailendra Bhandari said the bank identified Vijayawada as a high growth region and opened its branch here.

Nurses' day

Dakshina Madhya Railway Karmik Sangh celebrated Nurses day in Railway hospital here on Saturday. The Sangh felicitated a nurse, a midwife and an attendant on the occasion.

77,656 houses sanctioned

VGTM-UDA chairman Malladi Vishnu on Saturday said 77,656 houses had been sanctioned for 2007-08. The Government was all set to develop a port near Machilipatnam, he said
