CHENNAI:
The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) has congratulated Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati for coming to power in Uttar Pradesh for a fourth term.
In a statement, PMK founder S. Ramadoss said he was sure that "your new rule will usher in a new era of peace, progress and social progress in Uttar Pradesh. I also hope that you will continue to support the policies of the United Progressive Alliance Government in which our party is also a partner."
He said the BSP's success symbolised the victory of social justice and betterment of the oppressed and suppressed classes of Uttar Pradesh in particular and the country in general.
