BHUBANESWAR: Tension prevailed in the Atabira area in Bargarh district following recovery of bodies of two school-going children from an abandoned room of an upper primary school near Kumelasingha on Saturday. The deceased were identified as seven-year-old Silu, son of Nandalal Behera, and nine-year-old Ramesh, son of late Saranga Pradhan of the village. "This is a clear case of murder. The two kids were strangulated to death," Atabira police station officer-in-charge Mihir Kumar Panda said on Sunday. He said the murder was suspected to have been carried out between 6.30 pm and 9 pm on Saturday.
No clue
"We have not yet been able to establish the motive behind the murder. There was no clue of sexual harassment or organ trade or family animosity," Mr. Panda said. The two kids were last sighted cycling near the school, eyewitnesses told the local police which recovered bi-cycle and their footwear. The OIC, however, said three labourers, who were working near the school, were detained. It, however, triggered tension in the area as another child was killed last month in Bargarh district.
