CHENNAI:
Superstar Rajinikanth's `Sivaji' will release on May 31.
A press release from AVM Productions, the producers of the film, put an end to speculations about the release date, originally slated to be April 14.
Directed by Shankar, `Sivaji' brings together a host of industry bigwigs — music director A.R. Rahman, producers M. Saravanan and M.S. Guhan, associate producer S.P. Muthuraman, and other big names including K.V. Anand, Thotta Tharani, Vairamuthu, Pa.Vijay, Peter Heinz and Bollywood's favourite costume designer Manish Malhotra.
Shriya stars as Rajini's romantic interest.
The AVM release listed a few number coincidences — Shankar's lucky number is eight, and this is his eight film, Rajini favours nine and this is his ninth film for AVM.
It will also be his 100th Tamil film.
