Government Unani Medical College will conduct a training programme in Unani general medicine on Monday on its premises. Special Commissioner of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy G.A. Rajkumar will inaugurate the programme and former president of Central Council of Indian Medicine Syed Khalifathullah will deliver the keynote address.
Free health camp held
Hindu Mission Hospital conducted a free health camp at Gopalapuram on Sunday. About 200 persons were screened, 15 patients were referred for free eye surgery and three for general surgery.
Man held
The Central Crime Branch police has arrested V. Ravikanth of Andhra Pradesh on a charge of cheating. A release from the CCB said the arrested man, hailing from Rajamundry in East Godavari district, promised V. Ananthanarayanan of a private steel company that he would supply the required raw materials, and took Rs 50 lakh from Mr Ananthanarayanan.
As Ravikanth failed to supply the material, the complainant grew suspicious and filed a case with the police. The CCB police arrested Ravikanth and he has been remanded to judicial custody, the release said.
