`Voice chat' launched

HYDERABAD: Airtel on Sunday launched `Voice chat' which allows the user to bring the Internet chat room experience to their mobiles, using their own voice. To avail the service, customers have to register at Rs. 25 a month by calling voice code 694 (at Rs.3 a minute) following which a chat ID will be sent through SMS. The privacy of customers will be maintained and they can block specific IDs. Sam Elangalloor.T, COO of Bharti Airtel Ltd., described the service as a means to encourage customers to interact with new persons.
