Groups clash over road blockade, curfew imposed
Sushanta Talukdar
Guwahati:
Curfew was imposed at three places in upper Assam's Tinsukia district after clashes between tea garden workers and agitators staging a road blockade on National Highway 37 claimed two lives and injured 15 others on Sunday.
The blockade has been on since May 6 to protest the killing of villager Buddheswar Moran by the Army in a "fake encounter" at Laopatty under Doomdooma police station.
IGP (Law and Order) D.K. Pathak said two persons were killed and several others hurt in group clashes at Talap.
