Bangalore: It turned out to be an incident that made women activists sit up straight. N. Srinidhi, Fraser Town Police Station Inspector, has been accused of assaulting his wife, Jyothishree. The police said that on Sunday, Jyothishree and Srinidhi started quarrelling, following which Srinidhi assaulted Jyothishree, who was later admitted in a private hospital. Jyothishree filed a case with the Vijayanagar police on Sunday.
Two killed
A pillion rider was killed on Sunday when a Tamil Nadu bus hit a motorcycle. The Chamarajpet Traffic Police gave the name of the dead as Ratna Shekhar (40), resident of Srinagar. The police said that the accident occurred near B.B. Junction on Mysore Road at around 5 p.m. Ratna's husband Shekhar suffered minor injuries. The driver of the bus Kaisar Pasha has been arrested. A case is registered. In another incident, a man was killed after he fell off his motorcycle. The police said that Mohan Kumar (30) the motorcycle fell after he applied the brakes. The accident occurred on the 80 ft Road Junction, near Subbaiahanapalya Main Road, on Sunday.
